Would be okay, except it's clear she will re-hook-up with Jack in future chapters.

I don't intend to bring your full wrath down upon my head- but (excusing the fact that this particular story isn't all that great even without the impending romance) aren't you being a little short-sighted on the matter? I'm just trying to understand- but are you saying that any hetero-OC-female pairing in any genre is automatically a horrible story waiting to happen? It just seems to be selling authors (like me) a little short, is all. No offense intended.

*claps hands together*

“Captain, we can't just leave her there!” he exclaimed, looking at his captain with utter disbelief. “I know what she means to you, so I’m certain that-”

Yeah, and Jack doesn't keel-haul his ass? Right. You never question a Captain's orders, unless you intend to mutiny. On the sea- the Captain comes before God.

“We stick to the code.”

"We stick to the movie dialogue! It was okay, wasn't it? Argh!"

“Scarlett Bane?” he repeated with a dubious look. “The comrade and lover of Jack Sparrow?"

Ummm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but *checks above* Scarlett was tossed off of a ship without a nickle to her name, right? So how is it that she has been able to afford clothing nice enough and been able to clean herself up enough to be presentable to Norrington as a lady? *scratches head* Oh wait, I know: She's an effing Mary Sue! *slaps forehead*
